Journeyman ElectricianPBF Energy Inc. is one of the largest independent refiners in North America, operating, through its subsidiaries, oil refineries and related facilities. We are a growing organization seeking a talented Journeyman Electrician to join our team as a pivotal member here at PBF Energy. This role is located at Torrance Refining Company in Torrance, CA.Job SummaryThe Electrician is responsible for the following:Installing and maintaining wiring, control, and lighting systemsInspecting electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakersIdentifying electrical problems with a variety of testing devicesRepairing or replacing wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools for the Northern AreaKey ResponsibilitiesApplies knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC), state codes, and local codes to daily workDemonstrates proficiency in the safe operation of power tools and test equipmentReads, writes, and understands electrical blueprint and wiring diagramsTroubleshoots and repairs substation switchgear, Motor Control Center (MCC), motors and lights; bending and installing conduits for circuits and controlsPulls wire and connects circuitsReads and interprets schematic drawings (primary and secondary single line drawings)Works with diagnostic and test equipment such as voltmeter, ammeter and meggerDemonstrates ability to perform Electrician tasks without direct supervisionDemonstrates ability to provide direction to term electrical contractorsUnderstands and demonstrates knowledge of three-phase circuitryUnderstands and demonstrates knowledge of control circuitryPerforms all job-related duties as assignedJob QualificationsBasic/Required Qualifications:5+ years of Electrical related experienceJourneyman Level ElectricianMust be at least 18 years of age or older and hold a valid driver's licenseLegally authorized to work in the United States without restrictionsHigh School diploma or GED requiredAssociate's trade school degree in Electrical Technology OR five (5) years equivalent experience in a refinery, or industrial facilitiesAbility to work while donned in a variety of Personal Protective EquipmentAbility to read and interpret repair manuals and shop or vendor drawingsAbility to climb, bend, lift and perform a wide range of physical activities in all weather conditionsWilling and able to work overtime, various shifts, and weekends and holidays as requiredAbility to work alone as well as function as a team memberAbility to communicate effectively verbally and writtenMust be self-motivated with willingness to acquire and utilize new and/or additional skillsMust be able to work in inclement weather at timesPreferred Qualifications:California state electrical license preferredThis position is subject to federally mandated drug/alcohol testing.The wage for this position is $52.82/hour. The compensation listed in this posting is in compliance with applicable state law. Factors such as scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, job-related skills and internal peer equity will be considered in determining the selected candidate's compensation. In addition to salary, PBF offers a comprehensive and generous benefits package.
