Journeyman HVAC Technician – Lead Residential & Light Commercial Field Operations
Job Overview:

Salary/Pay Rate: $31.00 – $36.00 per hour
Location: Columbia, MO
Job/Employment Type: Full Time
Schedule: Monday – Friday, ~7:00 AM – 4:00 PM (Rotating on-call coverage)
Project Scope: Residential and Light Commercial Heating & Cooling Install, Service, and Ductwork
Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: Active Journeyman HVAC License (or ability to obtain quickly in Columbia), Valid Driver's License
The Opportunity:
You will serve as a lead field technician driving the execution of residential and light commercial HVAC installations and service calls. This role gives you full ownership over jobs from start to finish while leading helpers and setting the standard for crew craftsmanship. You will play a vital role in expanding our HVAC division with a direct path to higher operational leadership as our team grows.
How You Will Make an Impact:
Lead residential and light commercial installation projects independently from start to finish.
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on complex heating and cooling systems in the field.
Layout, fabricate, and install custom sheet metal ductwork for furnace and AC replacements.
Walk job sites to estimate furnace, AC, and ductwork installations and generate accurate numbers.
Supervise and mentor junior technicians and helpers on active job sites to maintain quality standards.
Act as the primary, professional face of the company when interacting with customers on site.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
Active Journeyman HVAC license or the ability to acquire one in Columbia quickly.
Proven experience independently running residential and light commercial service calls and installations.
Hands-on sheet metal ductwork experience, including layout, fabrication, and proper installation.
Demonstrated ability to walk site locations and build accurate job estimates for HVAC equipment and ducting.
Strong leadership capability to guide crew members and helpers efficiently on job sites.
Valid license and clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
Experience working inside field service management software platforms for dispatching and site quotes.
Prior experience working within a growing HVAC service division or expanding trade company.
Deep knowledge of local Columbia municipal codes, permitting, and equipment startup procedures.
