Job description
Journeyman MachinistWe are seeking an experienced Journeyman Machinist with a strong background in CNC machining for automation equipment. The ideal candidate will have experience operating and setting up Horizontal Machining Centers (HMC) or Horizontal Boring Mills and be comfortable machining large, complex components.Key Responsibilities:Set up and operate CNC Horizontal Machining Centers or Horizontal Boring MillsSet up parts, fixtures, tooling, and work offsetsRead and interpret blueprints and GD&TPerform precision machining of automation components and toolingInspect finished parts using precision measuring equipmentMake machine adjustments and troubleshoot machining issuesLoad programs and make necessary program editsMaintain accurate dimensions and quality standardsRequired Qualifications:Journeyman-level machining experienceProven experience setting up CNC machines and partsExperience with HMC or Horizontal Boring MillsAbility to read blueprints and understand GD&TStrong knowledge of cutting tools, speeds, feeds, and workholdingAbility to use precision measuring instrumentsPreferred:CNC programming experienceExperience machining large automation componentsExperience with Mazak, Okuma, Haas, Makino, DMG MORI, Toshiba, or similar equipmentExperience with CNC conversational programmingKey Requirement: Must be able to independently set up parts and operate a Horizontal Machining Center or Horizontal Boring Mill. CNC programming experience is strongly preferred.Job Location: Erie, MI
