Journeyman Machinist - Special Products - 2nd ShiftEureka, Missouri, United StatesPrimary Responsibility:Manufacture and repair special products - build prototypesDuties and Responsibilities:Efficiently operate all standard machine toolsMake mathematical calculations required for setting up and machining any partRead drawings, use precision measuring instruments and hand toolsVerify conformance of finished work piece to specificationsAssemble and disassemble precision parts and equipmentWelding (tig, mig, stick and gas)Metal fabricationReverse engineeringDesign and build tooling and fixturesManufacture dies, machine tools, cutting tools, and other toolsMinimum QualificationsKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Good mechanical skillsGood shop math skillsBasic understanding of hydraulics, electricity, pneumatics, and a familiarization with computer technology.Thorough knowledge of metallurgy and heat treatingWork with minimum supervisionEducation/Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.Four years journeyman level experience.Physical requirements:Able to lift 35 lbs. on occasionStand for extended periods - 2 hour periodsSome overtime requiredMaxcess is an equal employment opportunity employer.
