Journeyman PainterFields Collision Center Glenview is seeking experienced and skilled Journeyman Painter to join our team. The Journeyman Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint and coatings, and completing interior and exterior painting projects to a high standard of quality and workmanship.The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of painting techniques, surface preparation, tools, materials, and safety procedures and can work independently while maintaining productivity and attention to detail.As a family owned and operated business, our culture is defined by our shared beliefs in the importance of safety, integrity, courtesy, presentation, and efficiency. We strive to ensure a supportive and collaborative environment where team members are encouraged to grow and elevate their careers through promotion within the organization.What We Offer - BenefitsMedical, Dental, Vision, Short- and Long-Term Disability, Paid Basic Life Insurance, 401(k) Plan, Personal Time Off, Paid Training, Employee vehicle purchase plans, Health and wellness, Saturday Lunches, Discounts on products and services, Sundays off.Pay: $80,000 - 120,000 DOEResponsibilitiesPrepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting, including cleaning, sanding, scraping, caulking, patching, and priming.Apply paint, stain, varnish, sealants, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, sprayers, and other appropriate equipment.Mix and match paints and coatings to achieve required colors and finishes.Inspect completed work to ensure proper coverage, consistency, and quality.Repair cracks, holes, dents, and other surface imperfections before painting.Protect floors, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and surrounding areas from paint and overspray.Set up, operate, clean, and maintain painting equipment and tools.Read and follow work orders, specifications, and product instructions.Identify and report surface conditions or issues that may affect the quality of the finished product.Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.Follow all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and proper handling procedures for paints, solvents, and other materials.Work independently or alongside other trades and team members to complete projects on schedule.Assist apprentices and less-experienced painters with proper techniques and safe work practices.Perform other duties as assigned.QualificationsProven experience as a professional painter; journeyman-level experience preferred.Strong knowledge of surface preparation, painting techniques, and coating applications.Ability to work with brushes, rollers, spray equipment, and other painting tools.Knowledge of different types of paints, primers, stains, sealants, and coatings.Ability to accurately follow specifications and work instructions.Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Good communication and teamwork skills.Ability to safely use ladders, scaffolding, lifts, and other equipment as required.Valid driver's license preferred.Relevant trade certification or apprenticeship completion preferred, where applicable.
