Job description
Journeyman PainterTo assist in the attainment of District goals through implementation of effective and efficient painting and glazing of buildings and equipment.Essential Functions / Key Responsibilities:Promote a safe work environment by ensuring and enforcing compliance with high standardsMix paint and match colorPaint interior/exterior of building, equipment, and some furnitureGlaze and caulk windows as required in connection with paintingPerform preventive maintenance, report needed equipment repairs and make recommendations regarding replacement of existing equipmentConduct monthly physical equipment and supplies inventoryProvide detailed estimates of required time and materials to determine or forecast the costs of specific jobs. Interacts with vendors and contractors for purchasing supplies or servicesPerforms other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expected for this positionMinimum Requirements:High school diploma or GED equivalent (recognized by the Texas Education Agency or a regional accrediting agency)3+ years' experience as a painterValid Texas driver's license with a good driving record (meet and maintain liability coverage eligibility)Candidate may work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on operational needsCandidate must have satisfactory outcome of fingerprinting background check. Non-refundable fee (approximately $50.00) paid by the employeeKnowledge, Skills & Abilities:Keep informed of and comply with state, district, and federal policies, including daily attendance, punctuality, and confidentialityWorking Conditions Work Environment:Computer, computer software programs and peripherals, teacher resource materials and equipment, copier, fax, and other equipment applicable to positionFrequent exposure to: temperature extremes (hot and cold), humidity extremes, noise.
