\ NPosition Summary
\ NBest Logistics Group is seeking a motivated Junior Software Developer to join our Information Technology team. This position offers an opportunity to work with a variety of technologies while developing applications, integrations, and automated solutions that improve business operations across our organization.
\ NThe ideal candidate has asolid understanding of basic software development principles, experience working with Microsoft SQL Server, and familiarity with source code repositories and version control. We are particularly interested in someone who embraces modern development tools, including artificial intelligence (AI), to assist with coding, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
\ NThis position will work alongside experienced developers and IT professionals on projects involving application development, data integration, business process automation, and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).

\ NKey Responsibilities
\ N Assist in designing, developing, testing, and maintaining applications and integrations supporting business operations.
\ N Write and maintain Microsoft SQL Server queries, stored procedures, and other database-related solutions.
\ N Utilize source code repositories and version control tools, such as Git, to manage development projects.
\ N Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity, troubleshoot issues, and explore solutions while following company security and development standards.
\ N Assist with EDI integrations, data mapping, and troubleshooting electronic transactions with customers and business partners.
\ N Support existing applications, investigate reported issues, and implement enhancements.
\ N Collaborate with developers, IT team members, and business departments to understand requirements and develop practical solutions.
\ N Create and maintain technical documentation for applications, integrations, and processes.
\ N Participate in application testing, debugging, and deployment activities.
\ N Research new technologies and identify opportunities to improve existing processes through development and automation.
\ N Required Qualifications
\ N Foundational knowledge of software development concepts, programming logic, and application design.
\ N Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, including writing SQL queries and working with relational databases.
\ N Familiarity with sourcecode repositories and version control practices, preferably Git.
\ N Understanding of basic development practices, including testing, debugging, documentation, and code maintenance.
\ N Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, or similar platforms.
\ N Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
\ N Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team.
\ N Good communication skills, a positive attitude, and a willingness to learn new technologies.
\ N Preferred Qualifications
\ NExperience with any of the following technologies or areas would be beneficial but is not required:
\ N Electronic Data Interchange (EDI), including common transaction formats such as X12.
\ N Microsoft 365 / Office 365 development and integrations.
\ N Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate.
\ N PowerShell scripting and automation.
\ N Microsoft Graph API.
\ N C# and .NET development.
\ N REST APIs, JSON, XML, and system-to-system integrations.
\ N Experience developing applications or integrations in transportation, logistics, or related industries.
\ N Education and Experience
\ NEducation or experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Development, or a related field is preferred. However, equivalent practical experience, self-directed learning, personal development projects, and demonstrated technical abilities will also be considered.
