Job description
Junior Personal Injury Litigation Associate - New York City
We are working with a growing Manhattan law firm seeking a junior litigation associate to join its Plaintiff’s Personal Injury practice.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney with 1-3 years of experience who wants to build a strong litigation foundation and gain meaningful, hands-on experience early in their career. The associate will work closely with experienced attorneys while receiving exposure to all stages of plaintiff-side personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and other personal injury claims.
The position will initially focus heavily on written litigation work, including pleadings, discovery, and motion practice, while also offering opportunities to gain practical experience through depositions, hearings, and court appearances.
Responsibilities will include:
Preparing and drafting pleadings
Drafting discovery demands and responses
Conducting legal research and assisting with case strategy
Drafting discovery and dispositive motions
Preparing for and attending depositions
Appearing at hearings and court conferences
Assisting with case preparation and other aspects of an active personal injury caseload
Working directly with experienced attorneys and support staff throughout the litigation process
The firm is particularly interested in candidates with 1-3 years of litigation experience who are strong writers, comfortable taking on responsibility, and interested in developing their courtroom and advocacy skills.
Candidates must have passed the New York Bar and either be admitted to practice in New York or be awaiting admission to the New York Bar.
Compensation: $95,000-$115,000, depending on experience.
Location: Manhattan, New York
This is a strong opportunity for a junior attorney who wants substantive litigation experience, not a role limited to research and behind-the-scenes support. The position offers the opportunity to develop both written advocacy and practical litigation skills within a growing New York practice.
