Job Overview
A law firm seeks a junior to mid-level associate with 2-6 years of patent litigation experience to join the Litigation group in the Contested Matters department in New York, New York.
Duties
Prepare and try patent litigation matters.
Manage case strategy, including all aspects of discovery.
Collaborate with witnesses, including experts and fact witnesses.
Analyze products and patents for infringement and invalidity.
Conduct and defend depositions and witness examinations.
Draft pleadings, motions, and court arguments.
Requirements
2-6 years of patent litigation experience in district courts and/or before the ITC.
Experience with patent infringement and validity analyses.
Experience drafting and preparing motions and briefs on patent issues.
Experience with litigation discovery management.
Experience with depositions and working with expert and fact witnesses is preferable.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to stay organized and collaborate effectively in team settings.
Education
JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
Certifications
Admitted to or eligible for admission in Massachusetts, New York, or Washington, DC.
Skills
Technical degree preferred (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry).
