Caseworker for the Juvenile Services Department
The City of Lynchburg is hiring for a Caseworker for the Juvenile Services Department.
Essential duties and responsibilities include providing regularly scheduled individual counseling, coordinating and conducting treatment plan meetings, making decisions and exercising judgment in program policies, documenting casework services, assisting and counseling direct care treatment staff, monitoring behaviors on home visits, coordinating educational and vocational opportunities, maintaining compliance with State and Federal guidelines, administering first aid and CPR, intervening and mediating disputes, participating on family assessment planning teams, and other duties to provide direct or indirect service to the citizens.
Minimum education and experience required include a Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in social work, psychology, counseling or a related field, and two years related experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
Additional requirements include a valid State Driver's License, acceptable driving record, Criminal Record Check, reference checks, driving record check, Child Protective Services check, tuberculin and drug screen as part of physical examination, and completion of IS100 and IS700 National Incident Management (NIMS) training within 90 days of employment.
