Job description
Nursery and Pre-School CaregiverThis position supports the mission and vision of Mountain Springs Church by providing Christ-centered care to all children in the nursery and pre-school area for weekend services and other events.Position Qualifications & Expectations:Minimum Age: 16 years or olderGeneral Expectations:Committed believer in ChristPositive influence and attitudePunctuality, arriving 30 minutes prior to service timeCan work in any assigned positionAbility to lead and assist in a classroomLove children and be comfortable working with babies to 6th grade aged childrenBe willing to work in whatever environment the team needs helpBe available to work a minimum of 3 times per week with at least 2 being a Sunday servicePerform necessary cleaning to return room to the condition you found it (or better!)Be humble in your leadership roleBe a spiritual leader in the room or environmentInteract well with parents (smile, polite greeting, calm demeanor, etc.)Essential Position Responsibilities:Nursery Expectations (12 Weeks to 2 years):Able to change diapers (Adult females only)Exhibit patience with crying babies and small childrenCan calm a nervous, upset, or scared childSpiritual leaderAbility to lift up to 30 poundsEarly Childhood (3 years to Kindergarten):Able to work with children who are potty training (Adult females only)Patient with small childrenTeach Bible lessonSnacks and CraftsAble to control 20-30 childrenA spiritual leader who is confident in their knowledge and ability to lead children to ChristAbility to lift up to 30 poundsElementary Expectations (1st grade to 5th grade):Teach class of up to 40 childrenKeep control of classroom of 40 childrenLead class in prayerParticipate in worshipA spiritual leader who is confident in their knowledge and ability to lead children to ChristAbility to lift up to 30 poundsFlexibility:Please be flexible with regard to where you are needed. We will try to accommodate your preference if possible. If you have a child who is disruptive or out of sorts for more than 20 minutes, please ask the Lead of that area before making the decision to call the parent out of service.Intentionality:Be intentional from beginning to end! Interact with the parents, as well as the children. Use positive words and statements and pray with and for the children. The use of cell phones or electronic devices is not permitted unless it is an emergency, or you receive permission from the Lead.Mountain Springs values each employee and the important role they fill on staff.
