Position: Financial Crime, AML & KYC Analyst
Type:Contract
Compensation:$75–$100/hour
Location:Remote
Commitment:15 hours/week
Role Responsibilities
Adjudicate transaction-monitoring alerts using alert packets, KYC/CDD profiles, and transaction history. Document dispositions and draft SAR narratives as needed.
Review client onboarding and KYC packets for completeness. Identify and document cross-document discrepancies and produce remediation lists.
Resolve complex beneficial-ownership structures. Apply 10%/25% UBO thresholds effectively.
Adjudicate sanctions and adverse-media hits. Provide short rationales for true matches, false positives, or escalations.
Triage supervisory alert queues. Adjudicate card fraud and disputes. Assess flagged communications against trade records.
Qualifications
Must-Have
3+ years hands-on in AML, financial-crime, KYC/CDD, sanctions screening, fraud/disputes, or transaction surveillance.
Working knowledge of FinCEN, FATF, OFAC frameworks, and SAR/CDD documentation standards.
Ability to write clear, defensible rationales.
Preferred
CAMS/ACAMS or CFE certification.
Experience in enhanced due diligence, entity unwinding, SQL, or transaction analytics.
Background in fintech or payments.
Assessment
A timed exercise involving a mock alert packet, disposition and SAR narrative, a KYC packet discrepancy and remediation list, and a batch of sanctions hits adjudication with rationale.
