Job description
Lab, Medical Lab Specialist, Manchester, Connecticut
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and complex laboratory tests (microscopic, bacteriological, hematological, immunologic).
Collect, prepare and store specimens.
Forward test results to physicians.
Keep accurate records.
Explain procedures to patients.
Prepare lab reagents.
Operate and maintain laboratory instruments.
Maintain safe working environment.
Certifications/Requirements
Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) certification from ASCP or AMT required.
CPR/BLS certification.
Experience
Associate degree in medical laboratory science or related field.
OR high school diploma with 3+ months documented full-time laboratory training per discipline.
3+ months to 1 year acceptable clinical lab experience.
Experience in required areas (chemistry, hematology, microbiology).
