Phlebotomist

Responsibilities
Draw high-quality blood samples from patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, following established procedures and safety protocols.
Prepare specimens for laboratory testing, ensuring proper labeling, handling, and documentation according to protocol.
Explain procedures to patients to create a trusting environment, fostering confidence and comfort during the collection process.
Maintain accurate records and complete required documentation for each specimen collected.
Adhere to safety standards and maintain a professional, clean environment at all times.
Demonstrate leadership behaviors while focusing on process excellence, confidentiality, and accuracy of patient information.
Perform daily tasks independently with minimal supervision, ensuring timely completion of all duties.
Maintain a positive and professional image with patients, colleagues, and the public.
Required Skills
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric blood draws
Ability to provide error-free work in a fast-paced environment
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Proficiency in keyboard and data entry tasks
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Additional Skills & Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required
Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required; over 1 year preferred
Customer service experience in retail or service environment preferred
Reliable transportation to the worksite within 20-25 minutes of home
Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, on-call shifts, and overtime as needed
Must be punctual, dependable, and able to stay for entire scheduled shift without excessive absences
