Job description
Phlebotomist
Join a dedicated healthcare team as a Phlebotomist, where you will play a vital role in specimen collection for laboratory testing in a clinical setting. This part-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to essential drug testing procedures while working in a supportive environment.
Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture to collect blood specimens safely and efficiently
Observe and collect urine specimens through observed or supervised procedures
Facilitate the processing, labeling, and shipping of blood and urine specimens according to departmental protocols
Ensure proper patient identification before specimen collection to maintain sample integrity
Demonstrate compassion and professionalism when interacting with diverse patient populations
Follow all safety and health standards, including Universal Precautions and OSHA regulations
Adhere to HIPAA guidelines to protect patient confidentiality
Maintain a clean, organized work environment at all times
Assist with office and supply management as needed
Required Skills
Minimum of 6 months of venipuncture experience
Proven ability to provide excellent customer service
Reliable with a strong work ethic and attention to detail
Strong computer skills, including managing multiple programs, email, and reports
Fast and accurate data entry capabilities
Effective communication skills, clear and concise verbal interactions
Additional Skills & Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Physical capability to perform frequent walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, twisting, and squatting
Experience with observed urine drug screen collections is preferred
Schedule: Part-time, Monday through Friday, 11:30 am – 4:30 pm (25 hours weekly)
Possession of current certification or licensure in phlebotomy is preferred
