Job description
Phlebotomy TechnicianAspiring healthcare professionals, join our team to gain experience in a diverse, multicultural lab environment where your work directly impacts patient care. This entry-level position combines direct patient interaction through outpatient phlebotomy with laboratory support functions, including specimen processing and waived testing. This role offers valuable exposure to hospital operations and allows you to build meaningful connections with professionals across various departments.Performs laboratory functions such as waived testing, assisting with standard operating procedure and work flow development, and training of new staff. Supports one or more of the following work areas: laboratory reception/registration, specimen collection (i.e. venipuncture, capillary, cultures, and chain of custody); processing of specimens, and supply ordering.Principle Responsibilities:Performs routine laboratory procedures within established guidelines.Accurate and timely processing of specimens.Performs customer service in lab reception.Maintains safety, education, and competency requirements.Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:High School or GEDPhysical Demands:Light Work: Lifting weight up to 20 lbs. occasionally, up to 10 lbs. frequentlyPay Range: $20.93 to $27.41 per hour. The pay described reflects the base hourly pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
