Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated Laboratory Technician to join our team in Watsonville, CA, for Powder Metallurgy Alloying using a rotary ball mill. This is an entry‑level, part‑time role with training provided and the opportunity to grow into a career as production scales.
Responsibilities
Operate basic chemistry lab equipment and a rotary ball mill (training provided).
Conduct micro powder metal alloying to produce a specific alloy.
Keep detailed lab notes for process tracking and improvement.
Communicate with the equipment manufacturer for troubleshooting and optimization.
Report progress to the project team.
Requirements
Familiarity with basic lab equipment (e.g., beakers, scales, pipettes).
Willingness to learn and operate a rotary ball mill (no prior experience required).
Reliable transportation to Watsonville, CA.
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication for team and manufacturer coordination.
Current undergraduate/graduate student in chemistry (or related field) or a freelancer with basic lab experience.
Must be willing to sign a non‑disclosure agreement (NDA) for confidentiality.
Nice‑to‑Have
Interest in materials science or metallurgy.
