# Laborer (2755)UCS - Cohoes, NY 12047## OverviewSalary Range$23.00 - $25.00 Hourly## Description**JOB SUMMARY / GENERAL DESCRIPTION:**Performs general labor duties in support of utility and civil construction operations. Assists with the installation, maintenance, and repair of utility infrastructure.**ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:*** Performs physical labor tasks including digging, trenching, shoveling, loading and unloading materials, setting structures, and site cleanup* Assists with job site setup, maintenance, and breakdown* Follows directions from the Foreman or Site Supervisor to support daily project activities* Safely operates hand tools and equipment in accordance with company policies and OSHA standards* Works effectively as part of a crew in fast-paced outdoor environments* Maintains accurate timesheets and daily work records* Drive to and from job sites* Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform manual labor* Complies with all safety rules, procedures, and regulations* Performs other duties as assigned**MINIMUM SKILLS AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:*** Must be at least 18 years of age by the start date of employment* OSHA 10‐Hour Certification required at time of hire or within 90 days thereafter.* 3 years experience in utilities, telecommunications, civil construction, or related field (preferred)* Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.* Commercial Driver License or willingness to obtain (preferred)* Ability to pass a drug test, background check, and medical card evaluation.* Knowledge of basic construction safety practices* Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English related to job duties and safety requirements.**WORKING CONDITIONS:*** Outdoor construction work environment* Exposure to varying weather conditions* Physically demanding work including standing, walking, lifting, bending, and digging
