Laborer I – CustodianRate of pay of $17.00 per hour, maximum 28 hours per week. Official transcripts required prior to employment. Recommended candidate for hire will be subject to pre-employment screenings. Triton College is an AA/EOEPosting DetailsPosting Number - S00309PPosition Title - Laborer I – CustodianPosition Type - HourlyDepartment - FacilitiesEssential Function - Maintains the cleanliness and neat appearance of campus facilities and grounds.Education: Basic literacy skills, including reading and writing.Experience: Six (6) months experience in housekeeping preferred.Responsibilities - Cleaning tasks which can include: scrubbing, disinfecting, vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting (furniture and chalk boards), stripping, buffing, waxing, and sealing floors. Shampooing carpets, window washing. Receives and carries out work orders completing any associated paperwork. Helps supervisors train new employees in housekeeping procedures. Maintains outside grounds including sweeping and snow shoveling/blowing sidewalks and driveways. Moves and straightens up furniture for cleaning and set-up for events. Restocks soap, toilet paper, paper towels, and any other regularly used bathroom supplies. Empties trash receptacles and replace bags. Maintains cleaning equipment and cleaning supplies. Fulfills special cleaning requests. Performs other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor.Equipment Operated: vacuums, carpet shampooer, floor scrubber, floor stripper, floor waxer, floor buffer, snow removal equipment, dominator, brooms, mops, bucket, wringer spray, dusters, squeegee, cleaning cart.
