Underground Laborer - UtilitiesThe Underground Laborer - Utilities plays a crucial role in the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground utility systems. This position is essential for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of water, gas, and electrical lines that serve communities. The laborer will work closely with skilled tradespeople to assist in various tasks, contributing to the overall success of utility projects. Safety is a top priority, and the laborer will be responsible for adhering to all safety protocols while working in potentially hazardous environments. Ultimately, this role supports the infrastructure that is vital for everyday life, making it a rewarding and impactful position.Assist in the excavation and backfilling of trenches for utility installation. Operate hand and power tools to aid in the installation and repair of underground utilities. Follow safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within budget. Perform routine maintenance and inspections of tools and equipment.Previous experience in construction or utility work. Knowledge of safety regulations and practices in underground utility work. Certification in first aid and CPR. Physical stamina and the ability to operate various tools safely and effectively. Utilize teamwork skills to collaborate with other laborers and skilled tradespeople ensuring that projects are completed efficiently. Attention to detail is essential for following safety protocols and performing tasks accurately.High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift heavy materials and work in physically demanding conditions. Valid driver's license$22 - $26 an hour
