Job description
Crew LeaderOversee and manage field labor for landscape construction projects. The Crew Leader will be responsible for leading a team of crew members and technicians, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards of quality. Crew Leaders directly report to Project Supervisor or Construction Project Managers.Core ValuesCulture of Safety – Safety is always job #1A Growing Tradition Plants, Personally, Financially and ProfessionallyEmployee Owned – Personal Pride in Success with an Owners MentalityExceptional Customer Experience – Delighting our Clients with our Products and ServicesGood Neighbors – Community Pride – Sharing our SuccessRespectability – Treating Others as we want to be treatedDuties/ResponsibilitiesMaintain high standards of job site safety, cleanliness, and organizationSupervise and lead a crew of 2–6 team members on landscape construction projectsInterpret blueprints, site plans, and construction drawings to guide installation activitiesEnsure proper installation of hardscape (pavers, retaining walls, patios), softscape (trees, shrubs, sod), irrigation systems, drainage, and other landscape elementsCoordinate daily tasks, assign responsibilities, and monitor progress to meet deadlines and specificationsOperate and maintain construction equipment (e.g., skid steers, compactors, saws, trenchers)Communicate effectively with Construction Project Managers, Project Supervisors and Subcontractors to ensure smooth execution and field coordinationTrain and mentor crew members to promote skill development and team performanceRequired Skills/Abilities2+ years of experience in landscape construction preferably within the Greenery TeamValid driver's licenseStrong knowledge of landscape installation techniques, equipment, and toolsAbility to read and interpret construction plans and technical documentsStrong organizational, leadership, and communication skillsBilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred+Education and ExperienceHigh school graduate or equivalent desiredPrevious outside construction, landscape, or similar field experienceExcellent interpersonal and communication skills a must6 months commercial landscape experience preferred but not requiredPhysical RequirementsOutdoor work environment in varying weather conditions.May require lifting up to 50 lbs and working with tools or machinery.Exposure to machinery, dirt, and dustMay require occasional overtime, including weekendsMay require travel to outside locations and overnight staysThis Job Description is not a complete statement of all duties and responsibilities comprising the position.
