Landscape Maintenance TechnicianSarasota County Government$16.93 Hourly6700 Clark Road, 34241, Sarasota, FLFull-TimeParks, Recreation and Natural ResourcesContinuousIn this role you will be primarily responsible for landscape maintenance on trails and in parks which includes trimming hedges, edging sidewalks, and keeping weeds in landscape beds to a minimum by hand pulling and spraying.Landscape maintenance which includes trimming hedges, pulling weeds, and edging sidewalks.Herbicide, pesticide and other chemical spray application on trails and in parks.Assist other teams in the maintenance and improvement of parks and park amenities and infrastructure.Management of paperwork-related activities such as P-card receipts, invoices and completion of work orders.Work Hours: Monday – Friday, 40 Hours Per Week - 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.High School Diploma or its equivalent2 years of experience in landscape work and bed maintenance including some chemical applicationValid Driver's LicenseWithin six (6) months must have working knowledge of the County's Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program and have completed training for and received a Turf and Ornamental Spray License (must maintain license in order to remain in position).Pay: $16.93 (Step 1)This Posting is currently Open Until FilledEnjoy great benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, and Life Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, Flexible Spending Accounts, Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Florida Retirement System (FRS) and many, many more!Utilize our award-winning wellness program including free gyms and classes at multiple Sarasota County Government locations.Enjoy 11 paid holidays, 3 personal days and 16 paid vacation days in the first year of full-time employment with increasing accrual rates with years of service.
