Job description
Landscape TechnicianEMH&T is seeking a Landscape Technician to join our Restoration team based in Columbus, OH. The Technician works under the direction of the Restoration Team Crew Chief, working outdoors to help restore natural areas, including streams, wetlands, and conservation sites. If you have experience in landscaping, lawn care, tree planting, grounds maintenance, irrigation, or other outdoor work, we'd love to hear from you. We provide on-the-job training and the opportunity to build new skills while working with an experienced crew.Successful candidates will:Enjoy working outdoors in all seasonsBe dependable and willing to learnWork well as part of a teamFollow directions and safety proceduresHave a positive attitude and strong work ethicBe comfortable performing physically demanding workResponsibilitiesPlant trees, shrubs, grasses, and other native plantsAssist with seeding and landscaping of restoration areasControl invasive plants using herbicide applicationsInstall conservation and property signageUse hand tools and small power equipment safely and effectivelyWork with a crew to complete outdoor restoration projectsHelp keep equipment and tools clean and maintainedFollow all company safety procedures and use required protective equipment (PPE)Work EnvironmentMost projects are located in Central OhioCrew members typically travel together from the office to the job site and return the same dayOccasional overnight travel may be required and will be communicated in advanceTypical schedule is Monday through FridayStart times are generally around 7:00 a.m., but may vary based on weather and seasonal conditionsPhysical RequirementsThis position requires regular physical activity, including:Walking long distances on uneven ground, hills, stream banks, and natural terrainLifting and carrying up to 50 pounds while walking across uneven terrainPulling landscaping materials and equipment up to 70 lbsFrequent bending, kneeling, squatting, twisting, and liftingWorking outdoors in all weather conditions during all seasonsQualificationsNo restoration experience required; training is providedValid driver's license with a good driving recordReliable transportation to and from workAbility to perform the physical requirements of the positionAbility to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check, and be subject to quarterly random drug testingBenefitsEMH&T offers a generous benefit package to all full-time employees that includes medical, dental, vision, pharmacy, medical & dependent care FSAs, paid vacation, sick and personal leaves, paid community service time off, paid parental leave, 401(k) with match, company paid life insurance, a wellness reimbursement, an employee recognition program, an employee assistance program that includes legal and identity theft services.
