Job description

Full Time LandscaperLion Country Safari is seeking a motivated, dependable, and hardworking Full Time Landscaper to help maintain the beauty, safety, and functionality of our world-class wildlife park. We are looking for individuals who take pride in their work, enjoy working outdoors, and thrive in a team-oriented environment.Landscapers play an important role in maintaining the appearance of park grounds, guest areas, roadways, and operational spaces through landscaping, groundskeeping, debris removal, planting, mowing, trimming, and general outdoor maintenance. This position contributes directly to creating exceptional guest experiences while supporting animal care, conservation efforts, and park operations.Maintain park grounds through mowing, trimming, edging, weed removal, pressure cleaning, and general landscape upkeepPlant, water, and maintain trees, shrubs, flowers, and other landscape materialsRemove trash, debris, fallen vegetation, and other materials from guest and operational areasEmpty and transport trash receptacles throughout the propertyOperate landscape and groundskeeping equipment including mowers, trimmers, weed eaters, leaf blowers, chainsaws, pole saws, pressure washers, and chemical sprayers as trainedAssist with grounds repairs, drain clearing, loading and unloading materials, and other maintenance tasksWork safely around guests, vehicles, animal habitats, tools, chemicals, and equipmentMonitor park areas for safety concerns and report issues to leadershipMaintain a professional, positive, and guest-focused attitudeFollow all Lion Country Safari safety procedures, policies, and operational standardsCommunicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding work priorities and park conditionsOther duties as assigned by management or department leadershipHigh school diploma or equivalentValid Florida driver's licenseAbility to safely operate or learn to operate landscaping and groundskeeping equipmentAbility to communicate effectively in EnglishAbility to work independently and as part of a teamDependable attendance, punctuality, and professional conductPrevious landscaping, groundskeeping, custodial, maintenance, or outdoor labor experienceExperience operating landscaping equipment and pressure washing equipmentExperience working in outdoor guest-facing environmentsExperience working around animals, zoological facilities, parks, resorts, or similar environmentsKnowledge of basic landscape maintenance and safe equipment handling practicesStand and walk for extended periods throughout the workdayLift, carry, push, and pull equipment, materials, and supplies weighing up to 75 pounds or more with or without assistancePerform repetitive physical tasks including lifting, bending, kneeling, climbing, reaching, digging, trimming, loading, unloading, and debris removalWork outdoors for prolonged periods in varying weather conditions, including heat, humidity, and rainSafely operate vehicles, landscaping equipment, power tools, and pressurized equipmentRespond quickly to operational and safety concerns throughout the parkMust be available to work weekends and holidaysEarly morning, evening, and occasional irregular schedules may be required based on operational needsReliable transportation requiredMedical, Dental, and Life Insurance401(k)Paid Time OffPerformance-based review and potential increase after the first 90 days40% off food and beverage30% off retail purchasesFree tickets to Lion Country SafariComplimentary and discounted admission to various Florida attractions for employees and family membersUniforms providedBe a leader in animal care, conservation and education to inspire people through connections with wildlife in a fun, family-friendly environment.Lion Country Safari opened in 1967 with the goal of bringing the African safari experience to families in an accessible and immersive way.
