Job description
Landscaper PositionWe are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Landscaper to maintain the outdoor appearance of our apartment community. This role is responsible for ensuring that all lawns, gardens, trees, and common outdoor areas are clean, safe, and visually appealing for residents and visitors. The ideal candidate takes pride in their work, enjoys working outdoors, and understands the importance of curb appeal in a residential community.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain lawns, landscaped areas, flower beds, and trees throughout the communityMow, edge, trim, weed, mulch, and prune as neededPlant flowers, shrubs, and greenery according to seasonal needs and property plansRemove debris, leaves, and litter from grounds, walkways, parking areas, and common spacesOperate and maintain landscaping equipment (mowers, trimmers, blowers, etc.) safelyIdentify and report irrigation issues, damaged landscaping, or safety hazardsAssist with storm cleanup when applicableWork closely with maintenance and management teams to ensure community standards are metRequirementsPrevious landscaping, groundskeeping, or outdoor maintenance experience preferredKnowledge of basic landscaping techniques and equipment operationAbility to work outdoors in various weather conditionsPersonal Attributes:Dependable and Punctual: Shows up on time and completes tasks reliably without constant supervision.Problem-Solve: Diagnoses and fixes issues efficiently using logic and experience.Detail-Oriented: Pays close attention to small details that affect the safety, function, and appearance of the property.Strong Work Ethic: Takes pride in workmanship and goes the extra mile to complete tasks correctly.Customer-Service Focused: Interacts professionally and courteously with residents; addresses their concerns with empathy and urgency.Adaptable and Flexible: Can shift priorities quickly, especially when responding to emergency repairs or unexpected situations.Team-Oriented: Works well with property managers, leasing agents, other technicians, and vendors to achieve shared goals.Safety-Conscious: Understands and follows safety procedures and building codes to prevent accidents and hazards.Honest and Trustworthy: Handles keys, resident access, and property responsibly and with integrity.Self-Motivated: Takes initiative, stays productive throughout the day, and manages time effectively without micromanagement.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.Frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, bending, kneeling, and reaching.Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and confined spaces.Manual dexterity for operating tools and equipment.Must be able to respond quickly to emergency situations, which may require running, climbing, or crawling.Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.Additional Requirements:Must pass a background check after conditional offer of employment.This company participates in E-Verify to confirm the employment eligibility of all new employees.Pay Range:In compliance with California pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this position is expected to be $25.00 - $28.00 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined by factors including experience, education, skills, and internal equity.
