School Aide

Salary: $20-$30 per hour Per Board Approved Non-Unit Rate Sheet Bargaining Unit: Non-Unit Report Times: n/a Daily Hours: 20 hours per week Work Year: 10 month Supervisor: Director of Multilingual Education Civil Service Title: School Aide Minimum Requirements: There are no minimum requirements for this position. Desired Qualifications: Proficiency in oral and written Arabic; Ability to communicate in English; New York State Teaching Certification (preferred); Bachelor's Degree in Education or Languages; Strong interpersonal skills; Strong organizational skills; Ability to demonstrate cultural competency. Position Summary/Responsibilities: Plan and deliver Arabic language and literacy instruction and assessment; Provides support to multilingual students under the general direction of a certified teacher; Supports staff with information about students language and cultural backgrounds to assist planning; Communicating and partnering with families and staff; Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
