Job description
Laser Machine OperatorWe are seeking an experienced Laser Machine Operator to join a well-established manufacturing and fabrication operation in Logan Utah. This is a hands-on position responsible for setting up, programming, and operating laser cutting equipment, while also supporting other machinery throughout the weld and fabrication department.The ideal candidate will have a strong machining background, experience with Mastercam, and the ability to confidently read blueprints and job travelers. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with CNC equipment, solving problems, and producing high-quality precision parts.Key ResponsibilitiesSet up, program, and operate laser cutting equipmentOperate rollers, brake presses, machine polishers, and other fabrication equipmentProgram and work within Mastercam softwareRead and interpret blueprints, measurements, and job travelersVerify dimensions and specifications to ensure parts meet requirementsUnderstand current job requirements and machine processesMonitor machine performance and make adjustments as neededMaintain appropriate material inventory for assigned machinesWork closely with Project Managers, Shop Foremen, Drafters, and Team Leads to ensure accuracy and successful completion of jobsFollow production direction and established work processesMaintain a clean and organized work areaPerform regular cleaning and basic upkeep of machines and equipmentFollow all safety and quality proceduresHelp identify opportunities to improve machining and fabrication processesQualifications5+ years of machining experienceAt least 1 year of Mastercam experienceExperience with CNC programming and machine setupStrong blueprint reading and measurement skillsAbility to understand job travelers and technical specificationsExperience operating laser cutting equipment preferredExperience with brake presses, rollers, or other fabrication equipment preferredCompletion of a machining program from an accredited trade school preferredStrong attention to detail and commitment to qualityAbility to work independently and as part of a teamMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorshipPreferred SkillsMastercamCNC ProgrammingCNC MachiningLaser CuttingBlueprint Reading3D ModelingSolidWorksBrake PressMetal FabricationPrecision ManufacturingPhysical RequirementsAbility to read computer screens, reports, blueprints, and technical documentationAbility to communicate effectively with team membersAbility to move throughout the manufacturing departmentAbility to stoop, kneel, bend, and handle partsAbility to lift up to 50 poundsAbility to use computers, phones, and other workplace equipmentWhy Consider This Opportunity?Work with a well-established manufacturing companyExposure to a variety of modern machining and fabrication equipmentOpportunity to utilize and grow your Mastercam and CNC skillsWork alongside experienced manufacturing, engineering, and fabrication professionalsHands-on role with variety from day to dayOpportunity to contribute directly to quality and production success
