Job description
Laser OperatorReports to: Department Supervisor at specific Business UnitFLSA Status: Non-ExemptSchedule: Monday through Thursday.1st Shift - 5:00am-3:30pm.2nd Shift - 3:30pm -2:00am.Overtime as needed.Summary of duties and responsibilities:The Laser Operator is responsible for all activities on the shift in a fabrication/metal shop facility. Employees must follow standard work instructions and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible.Primary duties and responsibilities:Set up of equipment, perform production work, help instruct and train personnel within the department or as instructed.Make suggestions to help resolve problems.Ensure all quality, quantity, and safety standards are met and/or exceeded.Perform quality checks per requirements;Package parts;Perform material handling functions;Read and understand work instructionsWear appropriate PPE.Handle/lift/push/pull up to 40 lbs. on a repetitive basisUse small hand-held tools to make minor adjustments to partsRead and understand measurement devicesPerform other associated job duties as neededEducation, prior work experience and specialized skills and knowledge:Must be able to use small hand-held tools, grinders, sanders, etc.Must be able to accurately complete all required Modineer production system documentation such as production reports, inspection reports, etc.Forklift experience is a plusAbility to read calipers, digital micrometers and indicators is a plus, but is not required.Physical environment/working conditions:The position is in the factory and could involve sitting, standing, walking and lifting for long periods of time throughout the day.Other (e.g., customer contact or access to confidential information):Must be able to work as part of a team.
