Job description
Laser OperatorDeGeest is seeking a Laser Operator to join our team and be part of our STRONGER STANDARD! The Laser Operator plays a key role in ensuring smooth and efficient production of metal parts by preparing materials and supporting downstream welding and fabrication processes. This position focuses on laser cutting operations, part preparation, and general support of metal fabrication equipment and workflows.Location: Tea, SD (right off I-29) Work Hours: 4:00pm to 2:00am Monday – Thursday (overtime is available as well) Pay: $20.00-$25.00/hour ($2.00 differential rate)Key responsibilities include:Operating laser cutting and other fabrication equipment (brake press, benders, etc.)Preparing parts through cutting, grinding, and drillingSupporting production by staging and preparing materials for weldingPerforming basic maintenance and cleaning of equipmentOperating forklifts to move materials and load/unload trucksEnsuring parts are accurately prepared and delivered to the next stage of productionQualifications:High school diploma or equivalent preferredManufacturing or fabrication experience preferredStrong attention to detail and ability to follow instructionsAbility to work in a fast-paced production environmentWillingness to learn new equipment and processesPhysical Requirements:Prolonged periods of standing, pushing, pulling, lifting, and carrying materialsMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsRequired Skills:Strong attention to detail and focus on accuracyEnthusiasm for learning new skills and technologyEffective time management and ability to prioritize tasksCommitment to the DeGeest Stronger Standard and continuous improvementStrong communication skills (read, write, and speak English)Ability to work safely and follow all proceduresAbility to perform physical labor in a manufacturing environmentDeGeest is an Equal Opportunity employer.
