Job description

Laser OperatorFlexible weekend part-time work. 15-20 hoursWe are seeking a highly skilled Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team during the night shift. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining laser cutting equipment to produce precise components and assemblies. Your expertise in CNC programming, blueprint reading, and mechanical knowledge will ensure high-quality production standards are met efficiently. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality.Key Responsibilities:Set up and operate laser cutting machines, ensuring accurate calibration and alignmentInterpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files to program laser equipmentUtilize CNC programming skills to optimize cutting processes and improve efficiencyPerform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser machinery to minimize downtimeUse precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers to verify dimensionsHandle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling equipmentCollaborate with fabrication, assembly, and quality control teams to meet production deadlinesMaintain a clean and organized work area adhering to safety standardsSupport tooling changes and adjustments for various projects as neededDocument production data accurately for quality assurance and process improvementQualifications:Proven experience operating laser cutting machines within a manufacturing or fabrication environmentStrong knowledge of CNC machine controls, CNC programming, and softwareFamiliarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation systemsAbility to read and interpret blueprintsMechanical aptitude with experience using hand tools.Knowledge of materials handling equipment such as forklifts; certification preferredBasic math skills for measurements, calculations, and quality checksFactory experience in manufacturing facilities emphasizing machining, fabrication, or packaging operationsStrong attention to detail with a focus on quality control standardsExcellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectivelyIf you possess the technical expertise, dedication to precision manufacturing, and enthusiasm for continuous improvement, we encourage you to apply for this rewarding opportunity on our night shift team.Benefits:401(k)401(k) matchingDental insuranceEmployee assistance programHealth insuranceHealth savings accountLife insurancePaid time offParental leaveProfessional development assistanceReferral programVision insuranceWork Location: In person
