Come grow with KMC Stampings!Summary Of PositionUnder the direction of the Plant Supervisor, the Laser Setup/Operator operates the laser to perform a variety of standardized work where procedures are prescribed to produce parts in conformance with specification.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesThis list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time.Setup, adjust and operate computer-controlled laser cutting machineMount, install, align and secure tools, attachments, fixtures and work pieces on machinesSetup and adjust gauges to properly position parts during equipment operationWork from drawings, specifications, patterns or templates in any combination of metric or decimal dimensions to hold tolerancesQuality inspection using a variety of precision measuring instrumentsUse scale, protractor, fixed angle and radii gaugesQualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or abilities required.Highly motivated self-starterPrior experience with Trumpf TruLaser 3530 and Trumpf Trumatic 600L preferredRequires 6 months of relevant manufacturing experienceStrong reading, writing and math skillsRegular attendance is required; punctual, dependableStrong attention to detailAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram formInterpersonal skills & friendly attitudePhysical RequirementsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle or feel; frequently required talk or hear and may occasionally sit; regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
