Laser Welder / FabricatorLocation: Black Mountain, NCShift: 1st Shift (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday–Friday)Pay: $21 – $28/hr | DOEJob SummaryWe are seeking a skilled Laser Welder / Fabricator to join our team in Black Mountain, NC. This role focuses on precision laser welding and fabrication of thin-gauge stainless steel used in specialized laboratory refrigeration and climate-control systems. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in precision, clean welds, and advanced welding technology in a low-volume, high-detail manufacturing environment.ResponsibilitiesPerform laser welding on thin-gauge stainless steel (22–16 gauge) with high precision and minimal distortionSet up and operate laser welding equipment, adjusting parameters to meet material and quality requirementsCut, fit, and fabricate stainless steel components to exact specificationsAssist with light fabrication tasks, including fitting, alignment, and assemblyRead and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructionsInspect welds and finished parts to ensure quality, consistency, and dimensional accuracyUse measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, rulers) to verify tolerancesPerform basic equipment maintenance and report any issues or inconsistenciesMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentSupport additional production tasks as neededQualificationsMinimum 1 year of welding experience (laser welding preferred; TIG experience transferable)Experience working with thin-gauge stainless steel preferredAbility to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawingsStrong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanshipFamiliarity with precision measuring tools and basic math skillsMechanical aptitude and ability to learn new welding technologiesAbility to stand for extended periods and lift up to 70 lbs (with assistance)High school diploma or GED requiredForklift experience is a plus
