Gallatin College Law Enforcement Academy Non-Tenure Track Faculty
Gallatin College is seeking a non‑tenure track instructor to teach at the Law Enforcement Academy as a Lead Instructor or co‑instructor. All curriculum has been developed and will be given to instructors at the time of hire.
Responsibilities
Understand industry standards, best practices, and college regulations.
Communicate effectively with learners of all experience levels.
Recognize safety hazards and instruct students in proper use of tools and equipment.
Maintain, inventory, and reorder classroom or lab equipment and consumables.
Provide or locate emergency medical assistance when needed.
Required Qualifications
At least 21 years old.
Two years of experience in training, teaching, or a related field.
General knowledge of law enforcement theories, public safety, and the criminal justice system.
Understanding of adult learning theories and practices.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior teaching experience.
Bachelor’s degree or associate degree from an accredited college/university.
Subject matter expert in instructional topics.
Documented experience with a professional law enforcement agency.
Ability to pass a background investigation.
Proficiency in Spanish.
Additional Requirements
Appointment may be part‑time with varying duration—from a couple of weeks to a semester or academic year—depending on department needs. Salary is $1,300 per credit. FTE is 1‑17 credits per semester. Benefits eligibility depends on FTE; contact Human Resources at 406‑994‑3651 for details.
