Job description
Lead the design, build, and testing of complex ETL graphs and applications on the Ab Initio suite, setting technical direction for the data engineering team.
What you'll do
Design, build, and test ETL graphs and applications across the Ab Initio suite — GDE, Co>Operating System, Express>IT, Data Quality Environment, and Continuous Flows
Design ETL frameworks for audit and data reconciliation across batch and real-time interfaces
Optimize job performance for high-volume processing and automate loading from multiple sources into BI/MI systems
Map and integrate relational data across DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and Greenplum
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior and mid-level developers
Partner with cross-functional teams on requirements and brief stakeholders at the right technical level
Maintain technical documentation and lead knowledge-transfer sessions
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field
Deep experience with the Ab Initio tool suite (v4) in Unix/Linux environments, including enterprise-complexity solutions
Strong SQL, plus mapping and integration across relational databases
Experience scripting in Linux to automate ETL solutions and data migration jobs
Experience with data warehousing concepts such as star and snowflake schemas
Track record leading design and implementation decisions on project work
Ability to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust suitability determination
Nice to have
Amazon S3 utilities within the Ab Initio suite
Automated unit testing, test-driven development, performance analysis, and continuous integration
Prior federal agency or public sector experience
