Job description
This is a 12-month contract position for a Lead Accounting Analyst based in White Plains, New York. You will play a key role in the accounting operations, leading month-end close activities and driving process improvements across the finance function.
Responsibilities
Perform and assist with day-to-day operational accounting and monthly close processes
Prepare monthly journal entries for assigned areas of responsibility
Prepare Balance Sheet reconciliations, review journal entries, and conduct financial statement analytics
Drive continuous improvement and reduce cycle time in the monthly close process through increased utilization of technology and tools, development of standard operating procedures, and other efficiency measures
Support preparation and distribution of monthly accounting management reports and statistical analysis
Conduct detailed P&L reviews and analysis
Collaborate with and support external auditors for annual audit
Strengthen the company's internal control environment and control processes
Partner with corporate and operations staff to facilitate variance explanations
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required 5–7+ years of accounting experience
Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP accounting policy
Advanced Excel skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional organizational skills, timeline management skills, and attention to detail
Ability to work in a dynamic work environment across multiple geographies
Strong leadership skills to guide teams and facilitate collaboration
Ability to engage peers from across the organization and direct/indirect reports
Ability to multi-task and adapt to a high-growth and fluid environment
On-site presence required; 5 days per week
Preferred CPA or MBA
Ownership of accounting operational processes and experience with automation of operational processes
Knowledge of SAGE 100 accounting systems
Takes initiative and demonstrates intellectual curiosity
