Lead Custodial, High School DepartmentEnsures a safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing learning environment for District students, staff, and patrons. Responsible for housekeeping, grounds maintenance, minor building repair, equipment control, equipment preventative maintenance, and general building operations. Demonstrate effective communication skills in dealing with students, staff, co-workers and persons visiting the facility. Must be able to work any shift and/or days, due to the event of inclement weather and/or emergency situations.Essential Duties And Responsibilities: Other duties may be assignedResponsible for achieving District housekeeping and grounds maintenance standards in accordance with head custodian instruction.Responsible for direct supervision of assigned staff including, but not limited to, preparation of work assignments and scheduling of assigned personnel in conjunction with achieving District standards.Performs lawn care and snow removal as needed.Performs daily cleaning including, but not limited to, sweeping floors, washing windows, restroom sanitization, emptying trash, dusting, filling dispensers, and buffing floors.Responsible for communication of building emergencies to appropriate supervisors.Performs routine inspections to ensure safety, functionality, and cleanliness of facility and campus.Responsible for inventory control of assigned equipment and supplies.Ability to train assigned personnel on proper utilization and care of custodial cleaning equipment in compliance with safety and operation guidelines.Responsible for minor repair and preventative maintenance of custodial cleaning equipment.Responsible for facilitating stadium activities and directing staff during activity clean-up, if applicable.Other duties as assigned.Education And/Or Experience (Required And Preferred)Three years experience in custodial or related fields.Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.Experience in supervision of custodial staff and proven ability to lead and train personnel.Must be able operate and maintain operations and maintenance equipment including, but not limited to, lawn mowers, scrubbers, snow blowers, heating & air conditioning systems, and any other equipment designated by the Manager of Operations & Maintenance.Possess the ability to safely mix and apply appropriate chemicals.High school diploma or GED preferred.Previous experience in position or school setting preferred.Qualification Requirements:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
