Job description
Lead Custodian at Rover Elementary SchoolSupervise the custodial crew engaged in the cleaning operations at assigned District sites.Qualifications:Education and/or experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GEDTwo (2) years of custodial experienceState of Arizona Identity Verified (IVP) Fingerprint Clearance CardEssential Functions:Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include any of the following tasks, knowledge, skills, and other characteristics. This list is illustrative only, and is not a comprehensive listing of all duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this class.Duties and Responsibilities:Supervise and assign work activities of custodial staff.Provide direction to custodians in the performance of cleaning tasks.Maintain time sheets and attendance records.May assist with hiring.Conduct performance evaluations.Train staff on custodial services and techniques; participate in all custodial positions and functions as needed.Responsible for security of district buildings and properties; serve as on-call for security or fire alarms.Maintain inventory of custodial supplies.Maintain all equipment to ensure proper working condition.Maintain communication with school administrator, facilities management and site custodians.Attend meetings as required.Perform other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills and Other Characteristics:Knowledge of cleaning standards and techniquesKnowledge of equipment and material usage and maintenanceKnowledge of hazards and precautionary measures specific to custodial operationsKnowledge of computer applications to perform functions of positionSkill in supervising the work activities of assigned staffSkill in both verbal and written communicationSkill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationshipsWorking Conditions:Hazardous chemicals and dangerous machineryExposure to extreme weather conditionsPhysical Effort:Bends, stoops, and liftsLifts, moves, or carries up to 80 pounds of materialsMay stand for prolonged periods of timeMay climb to various heights and work in confined spacesMay drive District vehiclePlease note that the closing date for this posting may be changed at any time without prior notice.Work year: 12 months
