About the Opportunity
Our client, a well-established and highly respected financial services organization, is seeking a Lead Data Engineer to provide technical leadership and drive the development of enterprise-scale data solutions. This role will serve as a key technical expert, helping define future-state data architecture, mentor engineering team members, and build modern data platforms that support critical business initiatives.
This is an excellent opportunity for a senior-level data professional who enjoys combining hands-on engineering with technical leadership and architectural influence.
What You'll Do
Lead the design, development, and optimization of enterprise data solutions.
Build and maintain scalable ETL pipelines and data integration processes.
Serve as a technical leader and mentor for the data engineering team.
Help establish engineering standards, best practices, and long-term technical strategy.
Work closely with architects, developers, and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven solutions.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex data and application issues.
Gather and analyze requirements from internal business partners.
Participate in technical planning and solution design activities.
Maintain and enhance existing data platforms while supporting new initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement across data engineering processes and technologies.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Strong experience designing and supporting enterprise data platforms.
Hands-on expertise with:
Informatica
SQL
Snowflake
Cloud platforms (Azure preferred, GCP or AWS experience also considered)
Experience building and maintaining ETL processes and data pipelines.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor other engineers.
Preferred Qualifications
Cloud certifications (Azure, GCP, AWS, etc.).
Prior experience in large enterprise environments.
Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams.
Work Environment
Hybrid role based in Indianapolis, IN.
Onsite attendance required three days per week (Monday-Wednesday).
