Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

National Center for HIV, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention

As a Lead Epidemiologist you will:

Serve as the recognized expert in epidemiology for the agency with responsibility for developing policy and objectives, appraising programs, and initiating requirements for epidemiological studies.

Provide advice and assistance for the development of contracts, grants, or cooperative agreements for professional, laboratory, or other services pertinent to the program, project, or study.

Provide epidemiological advice and/or assistance in the resolution of technical problems and issues that include significant barriers to program or project delivery.

Lead the team in identifying, distributing and balancing workload and tasks among employees in accordance with established workflow, skill level and/or occupational specialization.

Serve as a project coordinator and recommend resources for epidemiologic projects.

Design, plan, and initiate epidemiologic studies, surveys, and investigations.
