Embedded Firmware EngineerWe're a team of professional embedded/firmware engineers dedicated to making electric power safer, more reliable and more economical. We're looking for colleagues who are passionate about developing hard real-time systems in critical applications.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead in the design, implementation, documentation and testing of safety critical firmware systems.Understand hardware and software interactions.Collaborate across disciplines with Hardware and Software engineersMentor and help develop new engineers.Develop knowledge of SEL engineering processes.Develop knowledge of SEL products and technology.Follow and apply SEL Values and Principles of OperationsUnderstand. Create. Simplify.Required QualificationsB.S. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience5+ years of experienceKnowledge in the following areas:Programming languages: C, C++Software development including:Object oriented designUnit testingDebuggingStrong writing, documentation, and speaking skillsAbility to learn new skills and assume new responsibilitiesAbility to work cooperatively in a team environmentBackground check results satisfactory to SELNegative drug test result(s)Preferred QualificationsSoftware Skills:RTOSTest automationPythonSoftware development process (Agile)Location: Pullman, WACompetitive pay. Starting pay is determined individually and considers factors such as relevant experience, skills, knowledge, and training. Candidates may be considered at different levels based on their background.
