This role leads installation teams, ensures quality workmanship, adherence to safety protocols, and timely completion of projects. The Lead Installer serves as a mentor to apprentices and junior installers while maintaining excellent customer service standards.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead and perform installation of HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical systems according to company standards, blueprints, and manufacturer specificationsSupervise and train installation team members, including apprentices and junior installersSchedule and prioritize installation tasks to meet project deadlinesEnsure all installations comply with safety, building, and code requirementsInspect work to maintain quality and identify potential issues before project completionCollaborate with project managers, service technicians, and customers to ensure project successMaintain accurate documentation of installations, materials used, and service reportsOperate, maintain, and inspect company tools, vehicles, and equipmentProvide technical guidance and mentorship to team membersTroubleshoot and resolve installation challenges on-siteCommunicate professionally with customers, providing explanations and guidance on system operationFollow all company policies, OSHA regulations, and manufacturer installation guidelinesParticipate in safety meetings, training, and continuous improvement initiativesPerform other related duties as assignedQualificationsEducation & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required5+ years of installation experience in HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical systemsPrior experience in a lead or supervisory role preferredTechnical or trade school training strongly preferredLicenses & CertificationsValid driver's license with acceptable driving recordEPA Section 608 Certification preferred (if HVAC)Additional certifications (e.g., NATE, manufacturer-specific, hydronics) preferredKnowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, or mechanical system installationsAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manualsExcellent leadership and team management skillsStrong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and decision-making abilitiesProficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipmentExceptional customer service and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneouslyKnowledge of safety standards, building codes, and compliance requirementsPhysical DemandsAbility to lift up to 75 pounds or moreAbility to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, and climb ladders or scaffoldingAbility to work in confined spaces and at heightsAbility to work in varying indoor and outdoor conditionsWork EnvironmentResidential and commercial job sitesExposure to mechanical equipment, dust, noise, and temperature extremesField-based work with daily travel between job sitesScheduleTypically Monday through FridayOvertime, evenings, weekends, and on-call work may be requiredTravel RequirementsLocal travel within the assigned service areaPerformance ExpectationsEnsure all installations meet company quality standards and codesMaintain high customer satisfaction and first-time install success rateLead installation teams effectively and safely Complete accurate and timely project documentationEqual Employment Opportunity StatementThe Company is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, or any other protected status.DisclaimerThis job description is not intended to be all-inclusive.
