Fabricator/Lead InstallerPosition: Fabricator/Lead Installer Pay Rate Range: $25-$35 Location: Allendale, MIPosition SummaryAs a Fabricator/Lead Installer at CSM, you'll play a vital role in both leading a team and hands-on fabricating and assembling complex sheet metal and structural assemblies including ductwork, platforms, industrial systems, and dust-collection components. This role demands strong welding technique, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards.Key ResponsibilitiesInterpret and work from blueprints, sketches, and fabrication drawingsPerform welding on carbon steel, stainless steel, aluminum components using:SMAW (Stick), GMAW (MIG), FCAW, and GTAW (TIG) processesFabricate weldments and assemblies for dust-collection systems, platforms, fans, spray booths, structural elementsSet up, operate, and maintain welding equipment, jigs, and fixturesEnsure weld quality aligns with AWS / ASME standards and company tolerance specsConduct weld inspections, test coupons, and document results per company proceduresCollaborate with fabricators, fitters, and project leads during on-site installationMaintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, following all safety protocolsMust be able to travel up to 75% with travel being up to 2 week increments.Qualifications3+ years welding experience in an industrial/fabrication shopProficiency in one or more welding processes: SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAWExperience with sheet metal welding and structural steelCapability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and blueprintsAWS or ASME welding certifications (preferred)Familiar with welding code standards (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX)Ability to lift up to 30 lbs and work in diverse production environmentsStrong commitment to safety and qualityIf this is a role that interests you and you'd like to learn more, click apply now and a recruiter will be in touch with you to discuss this great opportunity.
