Job description
Lead Medical Support AssistantThe Lead Medical Support Assistant duties consist of but are not limited to the following:Monitors and makes work assignments, provides input on performance, resolves daily workplace issues and maintains efficient workflow.Responsible for running data reports for unverified status of applications, incomplete encounter management errors due to any administrative data input and updating demographic information.Managerial skills with a high degree of aptitude in oral presentation, written communications as well as a sound mathematical base to perform assignments.Coordinate with the supervisor for organizing and scheduling all mandatory training and education of all staff to include the CBOC and Outpatient Clinic administrative personnel.Develops and maintains effective working relationships with all staff in determining priorities of activities in support of direct patient care.Responsible for recognizing, analyzing, and recommending solutions for efficient management of patient processing care activities.Responsible for numerous administrative duties, to include completing required reports rosters, timecards, order supplies via the process store and IFCAP ordering system.Interviews and registers applicants to determine eligibility and legal entitlement of applicants for health care, including assignment into the appropriate enrollment priority group.May be assigned to process electronic applications and/or determine eligibility and schedule appointments for Veterans on the New Enrollee Appointment Request (NEAR) report.Assure that all new veterans to the system are registered within 7 days of receipt of their application.Expected to provide exceptional customer service by exceeding the customer's expectations.Work Schedule: Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:30pmRecruitment/Relocation Incentives (Sign-on Bonus): Not AuthorizedPermanent Change of Station (Relocation Assistance): Not AuthorizedPay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases.
