Job description
MidFirst Bank is seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer to support and evolve the enterprise network infrastructure. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, and operational support of complex networking environments, with a strong emphasis on Cisco and Fortinet technologies .
The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in routing, switching, and modern network architectures , including SD-WAN, SASE, and VXLAN , and will play a critical role in ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of the bank’s network environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across data centers, campuses, and remote locations
Engineer and support Cisco-based routing and switching environments (LAN/WAN, BGP, OSPF, MPLS)
Deploy and manage Fortinet security and network platforms , including firewalls and SD-WAN solutions
Lead and support initiatives involving SASE architectures, Zero Trust networking, and cloud connectivity
Design and implement VXLAN / EVPN-based network segmentation and data center fabrics
Troubleshoot and resolve complex network performance and availability issues across the enterprise
Collaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to ensure secure and resilient connectivity
Evaluate, recommend, and implement new networking technologies aligned to enterprise strategy
Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures
Provide on-call support and participate in incident response as required
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience in enterprise network engineering or infrastructure roles
Cisco CCNP or CCDP required, CCIE/CCDE preferred, or Fortinet NSE 5 or higher, NSE 7 or higher preferred
Advanced knowledge of Cisco networking platforms (Catalyst, Nexus, ISR)
Hands-on experience with Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, Fortiswitch , FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer)
Strong expertise in:
Routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
Switching technologies (VLANs, STP, port-channeling)
Network security and segmentation principles
Experience with SD-WAN deployments and operations
Working knowledge of SASE concepts and cloud-integrated networking models
Experience with VXLAN / EVPN architectures in data center environments
Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across layered network environments
Excellent communication and documentation skills
Preferred Qualifications
Cisco certifications ( CCDP or CCIE )
Fortinet NSE certifications ( NSE 7 or higher or FCX )
Experience in financial services or regulated environments
Exposure to cloud networking (Azure, AWS) and hybrid network architectures
Experience with automation or scripting (Python, Ansible, or similar)
