Job description
Lead OperatorThe Lead Operator efficiently and safely produces the requested product to specification with the goal of providing an optimal product to the customer as required. The individual will also be responsible for training operators how to set up and operate assigned machines.Responsibilities:Set up, operate, and tend machines that apply wet coatings to plastic films, papers, foils and other miscellaneous materials according to specifications and instructions.Train team members on company procedures and standards and how to set up and operate assigned equipment.Follow escalation procedures and notify appropriate support staff when production issues occur.Promote a safe work environment and safety focused culture by demonstrating safe behaviors and using equipment and materials properly.Identify, report, and solve safety hazard and trains operators on safe work methods.Support supervisor with daily tasks including metrics tracking, Tier meetings, production and leadership communication.Responsible for verifying dimensions of specifications and all information on production orders.Monitor equipment and perform quality/product testing per procedure and compile results.Perform machine adjustments and routine maintenance.Prepare coating solutions per instructions.Load and unload materials on and off coating machine.Enter data into a computer and maintain daily log sheets.Report to work consistently and on time.Keep work area, machines, tools, and equipment clean and in orderly condition.Meet productivity standards and strive to increase productivity.Follow all safety and quality procedures as set forth by the company, including SQFOther duties as assigned.Qualifications: Required Skills, Education, and Experience:High school diploma or general education degree (GED).Minimum of 2+ years related experience running coating machines.Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and write simple correspondence.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Strong communication and problem-solving skills.Accurate and has strong attention to detail.Thorough understanding of materials and supplies used in the company.Accountable and takes responsibility for own actions; applies feedback to improve performance.Proactive and seek opportunities to improve quality and productivity.Physical Demands:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
