Panel Shop Lead Technician – Manufacturing & InstallationThe Panel Shop Lead Technician – Manufacturing & Installation plays a hands-on leadership role in the build and wiring of electrical control panels for internal and external customers at Pillar Innovations. This position is suited for an experienced technician with a strong understanding of electrical control panels and wiring practices who can lead by example on the shop floor. In addition to building and troubleshooting panels, this role helps guide daily work, support quality standards, and mentor technicians by sharing knowledge and best practices.The position requires flexibility for extended hours as needed and occasional travel to customer sites, sometimes with overnight stays. If you enjoy combining technical expertise with leadership and helping others succeed, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact.General DutiesExercise safe electrical practicesAssist personnel in identifying hazards while performing dutiesRead and interpret electrical drawings and specificationsRecognize any necessary revisions for As-Built drawings, record project notes for process improvement, and report needed revisions to Foreman and/or Project ManagerIdentify and implement areas for efficiency gains in overall processes in collaboration with the Panel Shop ForemanAssist Panel Shop Foreman with Quality Control tasksAssist Project Managers and the Panel Shop Foreman with customer communications as neededEnsure project documents are accurate and completeAssist with on-site installations as neededTrain and mentor Panel Shop TechsLayout & Panel BuildingOversee and act as a resource to Panel Shop Techs related to panel building dutiesPerform panel building duties as neededControl WiringProvide oversight for control panel wiring and assemblyProvide insight to Engineers in the design process as requestedPerform control wiring duties as neededOversee testing of finished panelsElectronics & SolderingOversee and act as a resource to Panel Shop Techs related to electronics & soldering dutiesPerform electronics & soldering duties as neededProvide insight to Engineers in the design process as requestedPowered SystemsStay up-to-date with and ensure Panel Shop Technicians follow electrical codes and safe wiring practicesLead the installation of energized systemsOversee the function testing of completed systemsPerform advanced electrical troubleshootingWorking ConditionsStand for an extended period of timeWalk / use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls / reach with hands and arms / crawl / kneelThe employee may regularly lift and/or move up to 50 poundsWhat You'll Bring5+ years' experience and/or education in electrical related work preferredDemonstrated leadership abilityAbility to oversee small projectsAssist Shop Foreman with Quality Control tasksAbility to work under minimal supervision, within broad guidelines of procedures and goalsAbility to independently troubleshoot electrical circuits, boards, etc.Ability to differentiate color codesAbility to read, interpret, and mark up electrical schematicsProficient in electrical theory and shop standardsProficient in the use of basic and advanced hand and power tools such as pliers, hacksaws, wire strippers, multimeters, drills, grinders, etc.How We'll Support YouWE ARE NOW EMPLOYEE OWNEDEmployees are beneficial owners through an ESOP (Employee Stock Option Plan) that works through a qualified retirement plan.
