Staffed by our talented team of leading professionals, The Hospital of Central Connecticut provides a wide array of services throughout the region, caring for patients from birth through the end of life.Job SummaryThe Lead Phlebotomist provides day-to-day direction to the Phlebotomy team in achieving optimum workflow while providing an exceptional experience. This individual supports the Supervisor by performing a combination of activities while ensuring all procedures and policies are adhered to. Performs phlebotomy duties in compliance with applicable legal requirements and established laboratory policies. Demonstrates H3W behaviors with a focus on exceptional patient experience and quality outcomes.QualificationsHigh School graduate or equivalent.Or, combination of training and experience.6 months of phlebotomy experience.National Certification (NCCT or ASCP) or equivalent.Knowledge of venipuncture techniques.Excellent customer service skills with a professional attitude.Good keyboarding skills with ability to learn various laboratory application and HHC computer systems.Continuous improvement mindset.Ability to handle different patient population including difficult patients.Strong trouble shooting and problem solving skills.Ability to operate required lab equipment including pneumatic tube.We take great care of careers.With locations around the state, Hartford HealthCare offers exciting opportunities for career development and growth.
