Lead Piping QC InspectorThe Lead Piping QC Inspector will be responsible for leading and managing all piping QC inspection activities ensuring they conform to engineering designs, codes, and Tesla standards. This position will lead a team of field QC inspectors and perform inspections, while supporting the Quality Control Manager in achieving project quality objectives.ResponsibilitiesPlan, coordinate, and oversee all piping QC inspection activities, including assigning inspection tasks, establishing inspection priorities, and ensuring compliance with specifications and applicable codes and standardsReview, interpret, and ensure the availability of current piping drawings, specifications, isometrics, P&IDs, WPS/PQR, and applicable codes to field inspection staff, and verify that all piping work is performed in strict conformance with approved project documentsMentor, guide, and evaluate the performance of piping QC inspectors, providing technical direction, on-the-job training, and ensuring inspectors are qualified and certified for their assigned inspection tasksLead the identification, documentation, and resolution of piping nonconformances, including root cause analysis and verified closeout of corrective actionsReview inspection records, test reports, and material certifications, for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with project quality plan requirements prior to submission to the Quality Assurance departmentServe as the primary liaison to the QC Manager on inspection status, open nonconformances, hold point compliance, and overall quality performance, while escalating unresolved quality issues, recurring deficiencies, and systemic concerns to the QC ManagerConduct field surveillance, audits, and pre-activity meetings for critical piping work ensuring all hold and witness points are observed and documented in accordance with the approved ITPRequirementsCurrent Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certificationMinimum of 8 years' experience as a piping QC inspector on large-scale industrial projects with at least 3 years in a supervisory or lead capacityDemonstrated ability to read, interpret, and analyze technical documents, communicate effectively and professionally with field QC inspectors and the QC manager, and lead the resolution of complex nonconforming conditionsPossesses advanced knowledge of quality control program requirements and key construction codes; advanced proficiency with inspection tools and testing methods; proficient knowledge of NDE testing methods and proceduresDemonstrates advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to lead the investigation, analysis, and resolution of complex quality control issuesPossesses a comprehensive understanding of quality management principles and the ability to apply and enforce them throughout all phases of the project and system turnover walkdownsAbility to lead and perform effectively within a high-performance, cross-functional organization with extremely tight timelines and aggressive commissioning goalsCompensation & BenefitsBenefitsAlong with competitive pay, as a full-time Tesla employee, you are eligible for the following benefits at day 1 of hire:Medical plans with $0 payroll deductionFamily-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefitsDental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans, both have options with a $0 paycheck contributionCompany Paid (Health Savings Accounts) HSA Contribution when enrolled in the High-Deductible medical plan with HSAHealthcare and Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA)401(k) with employer match, Employee Stock Purchase Plans, and other financial benefitsCompany paid Basic Life, AD&DShort-term and long-term disability insurance (90 day waiting period)Employee Assistance ProgramSick and Vacation time (Flex time for salary positions, Accrued hours for Hourly positions), and Paid HolidaysBack-up childcare and parenting support resourcesVoluntary benefits to include: critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident insurance, theft & legal services, and pet insuranceWeight Loss and Tobacco Cessation ProgramsTesla Babies programCommuter benefitsEmployee discounts and perks program
