Lead Dental AssistantJOB OVERVIEW: The Lead Dental Assistant is a key member and contributor in creating an amazing, one-of-a-kind Patient Experience. The Lead DA will provide direct patient care in all stages of a dental appointment. Successful candidates will work in the Back Office and in our world-class lobbies engaging, entertaining, and caring for our patients.REPORTS TO: Office LeaderSCHEDULE: This position requires a flexible schedule that may require extended hours as business requires – including evenings and weekends.QUALIFICATIONS:Active Registered Dental Assistant license through TSBDE1 year minimum Leadership experienceActive CPR and AED trainingSealant, Coronal Polishing, or PALS Certifications are all a huge plus!Dental practice management software (Open Dental/Dentrix) experience helpfulBilingual (Spanish) is requiredESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Prepare exam and operatory rooms to be clean and ready to receive patientSetup trays and instruments for each patientPrepare, maintain, and sterilize instruments and equipmentEnsure all operatories are functioning properlyClean rooms before and after each patient, and at the end of the dayClean the suctions and trapsCollect and dispose of trashTake diagnostic quality X-rays if neededMaintain the office flow for a smooth dayAssignments of roles and responsibilities to the back staffMonthly inventory order is placed and checked in ProcurifyEnsure all tests are run and complete for the dental equipmentEnsure we have Oxygen/Nitrous/Helium tanks in stockTraining of new employeesEnsure all equipment including tanks are off at the end of the dayCommunicate with doctors and ensuring they have instruments/material they needHelp with minor dental work: retraction cord, scaling, temporaries and coronal polishingPlacement of post-extraction and periodontal dressingsTake impressions, bite registrations and prepare the study casts (models of teeth)Help provide direct patient care in all dental specialities, including orthodontics, pediatric dentistry, periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgeryAssist the doctor during examsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Prolonged sitting and standing as neededAbility to lift up to 15 lbsNOTE:A review of this description has excluded the marginal functions of the position that are incidental to the performance of fundamental job duties.
