Long-term contract in Birmingham, AL. Very competitive pay, time and a half for OT, Mob/Demob, and strong per diem.Join this fast-growing design engineering firm (will double in size in the next 18 months), supporting the design of simple-cycle gas turbine plants.remote options availableRequirements:B.S. degree in structural engineering or similar8–15+ years in structural design engineering for power generation or heavy industrialBackground in EPC project environmentsDesign experience with reinforced concrete, structural steel.Experience with structural analysis software (GTStrudl, ANSYS, etc.)Ensure compliance with AISC, ACI, ASCE, and local codesBackground in mentoring junior engineersPE License a plus, not requiredResponsibilities:Serve as a Lead Structural Design Engineer for simple cycle power generation projectsCreate and review calculations, drawings, and models; lead design reviews and technical discussionsMentor junior structural engineersAssist construction with field issues and design clarificationsEnsure constructability and safety of all designsSupport procurement with material specificationsParticipate in project scheduling and constructability reviewsSkills needed:• Strong knowledge of the International Building Code and related standards (ASCE, AISC,ACI).• Proficiency in structural analysis software and interpreting results.• Familiarity with CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit & Navisworks).• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).JSG offers medical, dental, vision, life insurance options, short-term disability, 401(k), weekly pay, and more.
